Irrational Games and 2K have officially confirmed a release date for their eagerly awaited BioShock Infinite shooter, as the game is now scheduled to arrive on October 16, in North America, and October 19, in Europe.
BioShock Infinite has been a long time coming, with Irrational Games, the studio behind the original BioShock 1, wanting to deliver a spiritual successor that once again blended story with top notch gameplay and special mechanics.
Despite hearing plenty of details about the game, neither Irrational, its developer, nor 2K Games, its publisher, has confirmed a launch date for the title.
Now, after a long wait, the two companies have revealed that BioShock Infinite is going to be out on October 16, for North American customers, and October 19, for international ones.
The game will be released for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Expect to hear some more details in the very near future.
