Motorola XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition Coming Soon in Poland | Technology News

Motorola has just announced the upcoming availability of its latest Android tablets, the XOOM 2 and XOOM 2 Media Edition, in Poland.

Both slates are expected to hit shelves by the end of the month, though no exact release date has been announced. Motorola Poland also confirmed that the tablets will be shipped with 3G and Wi-Fi capabilities.

Powered by Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system, Motorola XOOM 2 and Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition will get an Ice Cream Sandwich update within the following months.

Motorola XOOM 2, as well as XOOM 2 Media Edition are equipped with a similar dual-core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. However, while the former sports a 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display, the latter packs a slightly smaller 8.2-inch display.

The US-based company also confirmed that both tablets feature Corning Gorilla Glass and splashguard coating, protecting it against accidental scratches and splashes.

Just like Motorola RAZR, the slates are pre-loaded with Motorola’s MotoCast application, allowing users to stream music, photos, videos and documents between their computer and the tablets.

In addition, Motorola XOOM 2 comes with MOTOPRINT app, which allows users to print wirelessly from their tablet.

Dual-cameras are available as well on both tablets: 5-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing photo snapper. There’s also 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM, as well as Bluetooth, HDMI port and GPS with A-GPS support.

No word on the pricing options yet, but more details will probably be available closer to launch.

Tablets are quickly becoming a must-have tool for staying connected, getting work done and having fun at home and on the road. We are very excited about these two new additions to our tablet portfolio that build on the success of the original Motorola XOOM to now deliver more powerful tablet experiences to the European market,”  said Ma┼égorzata Matusiewicz, head of marketing, Central Europe, Mobile Devices, Motorola Mobility.
