Sprint’s Kyocera Brio Tastes Software Update 1.001sp | Technology News

Mobile phone carrier Sprint has just started the delivery of a new software update for its Kyocera Brio users.

Available for download as software update 1.001sp, the new firmware brings along security fixes for the mobile phone (most probably, it removes Carrier IQ), along with some other enhancements.

There are changes to the roaming guard display and to the keyguard unlocks when notifications arrive. The update also enables CMAS (Commercial Mobile Alert System).

The new software is available for download over the air. To receive it, users will simply have to go to Menu > Tools > Update Phone > Firmware update.

They can also check to see what software version their handsets run under, by going to Menu > Settings > Phone Info > Version. Additional details on the new software update can be found on Sprint’s forums.
